Hello, and welcome to Virginia Parents United! We are incredibly glad you're here. If you've found your way to this page, chances are you or someone you care about has been impacted by domestic violence. We want you to know, right from the start, that you are not alone, and there is a community here ready to stand with you.

Virginia Parents United is a new peer-led support group specifically created by and for survivors of domestic violence in Northern Virginia and beyond. We understand the unique challenges that come with escaping abuse, especially when children are involved. We know the fear, the isolation, and the uphill battle many face within the legal and psychological systems.

Our Mission is Simple Yet Profound:

• To provide a safe space: A place where survivors can connect, share their stories without judgment, and find understanding from others who have walked a similar path.

• To offer practical support: We believe in showing up for one another. Our members offer support by sharing their personal experiences of survival and, when possible, attending court hearings to provide a powerful presence and solidarity.

• To advocate for change: We are committed to exposing corruption and unethical practices within the legal and therapeutic systems that often fail survivors. Together, we are a powerful voice advocating for justice and accountability.

• To prevent further tragedy: The devastating stories of parents and children lost to violence or suicide fuel our determination. We are here to help prevent such tragedies by empowering survivors and working towards a safer future for all.

We've experienced firsthand the courage it takes to break free, and the immense strength found in connecting with others who truly understand. This website will serve as a hub for our shared stories, resources, and calls to action.
